Thrifting

I absolutely love going into second hand stores and finding the coolest accessories and clothing for next to nothing.  I'm usually luckiest finding jewelry and the past two days was no exception.  A trip to value village yesterday, a local second hand store yesterday, under $60 spent and a whole lot of goodness was the outcome of my shopping excursions.  Unfortunately, because my camera isn't working and my sister isn't around to use hers, I was stuck using an ipod, which as you can see, didn't work that great.

Runway 2 Reality: 3.1 Phillip Lim

My inspiration for outfits and clothing is taken from so many places; blogs, the public, elements of nature and of course, runway collections, are all huge contributors to how I put together what I wear.  Here, I have taken pieces from 3.1 Phillip Lim, and put together a look that is similar but much more realistic-in my world.  I kept the original Phillip Lim jeans, because they aren't expensive comparing them with other designer jeans and they are pretty cool.  The handbag is from here, the ankle boots here and the tank here.

Summer Sunset

After a big storm, the lake is always so pretty when the sun sets so my sister and I took full advantage of it.  Today I wore my sisters strapless aztec print dress, my mom's button up vest, black H&M flats that I painted, a belt I got second hand and my mom's old ring.

My new fav summer salad! 1 can of tuna, diced onions, diced red peppers, chick peas, lemon & lime juice and some hot sauce.

Sketching clothing that I wish I owned.

Staying cool in weather like this is no easy task.  Luckily I brewed a big pot of coffee last night and let it chill in the fridge so I could have iced coffee while I sketched.  Overall, it was a very relaxing and do nothing kind of day.

Lost In My Mind

The weather was incredibly humid today (which my hair and I are not fans of), so I wanted to keep my outfit light and simple.  Shorts were a must because of the weather so I paired these cutoffs with a plain black tank top, studded gladiators and layered a sheer white button up on top.  Keeping it simple, my only jewelry was a shark tooth necklace and my grandma's ring.
